SLUMPIE

The Anti-Posture ChairSLUMPIE encourages bad posture.
Constrained to a 2x4ft piece of plywood, and a CNC machine, creating this piece was the single most challenging, and fun project I took on in first-year studio.

The organic form really shapes the relaxed feeling, emphasized and personified by the electric blue profiling. 



Over fifty test models were made through the process of creating SLUMPIE. The biggest challenge encountered through this project was the need for each piece to slide together without the use of permanent joinery (nails, screws, glue, etc.)

the goal of each model was to perfect the form and test different interlocking and sliding methods.
